5 Ways to Enhance the Visibility of Your Business Online

Getting to the top of the Google search engine ranking results takes time, energy, and a lot of patience.

Much of it includes the ability to use keywords that are applicable to your business and that others are looking for on a regular basis.

Here are 5 ways you can enhance the visibility of your business online, which may help inch your listing closer to the top.

  1. Creating SEO-Optimized Content

Creating content that is well optimized is probably the best way to increase your website traffic and consequently the online visibility of your business.

But before you focus on the relevant keywords that are appropriate to your business and that are necessary to attract visitors to your site, you should first do an SEO audit.

That includes setting up your website with Google Analytics and Google Search Console, both powerful tools that will analyze your website and alert you to any errors that may exist.

Use the appropriate long-tail keywords to target your audience.

That will help attract the kinds of people/customers that are essential to your business. Beyond that, you’ll need to integrate those keywords into content that is engaging and relevant. Try to make your content informative instead of self-promoting since the goal is to help your potential customers solve a problem.

  1. Creating a Mobile-Friendly Website

Over the last 10 years, something interesting has happened. Most people have transitioned to mobile when browsing the web.

Because consumers are searching for things on the fly, it makes perfect sense that they would use their phones since they are readily available and hold the same power, if not more, than the average desktop computer.

This, of course, means that your website needs to be mobile-friendly. The Google Search Console tool I mentioned above will tell you if that is the case or not.

And if it isn’t, you’ll need to make some adjustments.

  1. Posting to Social Media Sites Regularly

Are you visible on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, or Twitter? You certainly don’t need to be on all of the social platforms out there, but you do need to pick one and stick with it.

If you feel that your audience is more prone to being on LinkedIn, then that’s the platform you should concentrate on.

Restaurant owners might want to focus primarily on Facebook and Instagram, for example, since those are the social media sites that many consumers turn to when looking for reviews and other information.

Be sure to fill out your profile completely, including the addition of your website address, along with the hours that you are open.

  1. Create a Google My Business Listing

If you’re not ready to run Google Ads right now or if it just seems too expensive, you can still get some of the Google love by creating a Google My Business listing, and it’s completely free to set up.

Before you rush to set it up and then expect it to work all by itself, you’d be mistaken.

In addition, the content that you upload to the platform goes away after 7 days, so it’s a good idea to keep it current.

Since Google My Business is a Google-owned property, it’s in the best interest of Google to promote it and that’s where your business comes in.

Be sure to ask your customers for reviews so that you can include them in your profile as well.

  1. Run a Google Ads Campaign

While it’s not 100 percent necessary to spend money to attract additional customers, there’s no question that it certainly helps and can seriously increase your online exposure.

If you can afford it, running a Google Ads campaign will, at the very least, be a learning experience and one that you may want to tweak over time.

There’s no doubt that certain industries do better than others in the online advertising arena.

According to Wordstream, dating services do really well in a Google ads environment, resulting in an average Click Through Rate (CTR) of 6 percent.

Other industries that also have high CTR rates include those in the advocacy, automobile, and travel spheres, according to Wordstream’s research.

If you’re a lawyer or an accountant, you could do very well with Google ads since these services are heavily searched on a regular basis.

Since I don’t profess to be an expert in running Google ads or even ads on social media platforms, I would suggest that you turn to an SEO agency that can help with this.
